OBJECTIVES:

1.  To enable members to create and contribute to art education activities
      in their communities as participation in the arts helps raise public
      consciousness and connects members and clubs with their communities.

2.  To encourage GFWC members to further their own artistic expression and to recognize their artistic expression             through several contests in the area of photography and writing; i.e., GFWC Volunteers in Action and A Year in
             Pictures.               
3.  To recognize the talents of women in the areas of research and exhibition.

4.  To promote programs in music, dance, drama and visual arts for individuals with mental and physical disabilities.

THE NEW TERMINOLOGIES - from Departments to Community Service Programs

    Collaboration – programs and projects that clubs initiate independent of any GFWC relationship, meeting the needs in their own communities.

            i.e.,   Art Exhibit at a High School

    Partnerships – programs or projects that a club carries out on behalf of the national or international organization specifically designed to work with GFWC clubs

            i.e.,   American Mural Project

GFWC Partners assist in monitoring the donations generated by GFWC members.  To ensure that your donation, at the individual, club, district or state level is included in the GFWC total, please be sure to:

    1.   Write on your check that you are a GFWC member or club.
    2.   Submit your check to the GFWC Partner Contact listed in the 
 GFWC Manual, even if it has a local or state                      representative.
    3.   Notify GFWC of your donation by calling or e-mailing GFWC Programs

AWARDS
CLUB  ---    A $50.00 award will be given annually to one club in the nation
demonstrating creativity in implementing an effective Arts Community Service Collaboration Program.  The award is based on narrative reports.  State chairmen should forward the winning state entries to the national GFWC Arts Community Service Program Collaboration Chairman by March 15 of each year.

A $50.00 award will be given, following the same procedure, for an effective Arts Community Service Partnership Program.  Entries are sent to the national GFWC Arts Community Service Program Partnership Chairman by March 15 of each year

STATE  ---    Awards will be presented annually to one state federation in each    GFWC membership category to recognize outstanding Achievement in both the Arts Community Service Collaboration Program and the Arts Community Service Partnership Program.

No grants are currently offered through GFWC at this time.
