"Any
publicity is good publicity"
As a new
club year begins,
don't forget that it also means more opportunities to "Share
the Best Kept Secret". Don't limit yourself to just
newspapers. Use the internet (Facebook or your own club
website),
local cable stations, fliers, signs ... the list is
endless.
Keep copies to create a Publicity Book for your club. In
March, think about sending it in as an entry for the Publicity Book
contest! The winning club from GFWC of Massachusetts will
have their book displayed at the GFWC Annual International Convention
and have the chance to win up to $150.00 !
Tips on "Sharing
the Best Kept Secret"
- Find out who
handles community news at
your local newspaper. Introduce yourself and share
information about GFWC (ex. a copy of your club newsletter,
links to the State & International web sites, GFWC
Club Woman Magazine, WHRC brochure). Invite them to your
next event.
- Use sites
like Facebook to let people
know about club activities
- Host an
event and
invite the public to attend. It can be as simple as helping
the library with a used book drive. Use your imagination!
- Take
advantage of working with any of GFWC Partners or Resource
organizations. Many are already in your own community.
- Talk
to people! Clubwomen are the best example of who we are
& what we do.
